Define the package boundaries

The groundworks quotation should make permanent works, temporary provisions, attendance and exclusions easy to see. Provide the scope, drawing register, specifications, quantities where available and responsibility schedule. We can identify missing interfaces before the programme depends on them.

Sequence the connected operations

Reduced levels, service trenches, drainage, foundations, reinforcement and concrete share the same working space. Agree the inspection points and access requirements for each phase, then coordinate deliveries and material movements with the principal programme.

Keep changes traceable

A drawing revision, unexpected obstruction or changed level can affect quantities and the construction method. Agree how changes are instructed and reviewed, who can approve them and what records are needed. Defined communication is particularly useful when several trades share the site.

Handover to the next trade

State the required final levels, access condition, drainage testing, as-built information and records in the tender pack. A clear handover helps both parties assess completion without relying on assumptions about what the following contractor expects.

Useful questions, answered.
