Use this at the planning stage.
This guide helps you prepare questions and information. Project designs, ground conditions and any required approvals need to be confirmed by the relevant professionals.
Start with the floor specification
Establish what floor system has been designed and which drawings describe it. The supporting preparation, concrete, reinforcement and other layers should follow the relevant project information. A ground-bearing slab and a suspended floor are not interchangeable options. Clarify the scope of LG’s work and what will be supplied or installed by other trades.
Resolve the details before they are covered
Coordinate level references, service entries, drainage interfaces and any formed openings. Identify who checks the specified layers and records the work before it becomes concealed. Keep the current drawing revisions available to the team. It is easier to discuss a changed service position while preparing the floor than to discover the conflict after concrete has been placed.
- Current floor and structural drawings
- Agreed level references and junction details
- Service entries and below-floor drainage
- Specified checks, photographs and records
Plan the quantity and delivery together
Our concrete calculator provides a volume from the dimensions you enter and an adjustable waste allowance. It cannot determine the concrete specification or delivery method. Check how delivery vehicles will reach the site, where the work will be supplied from and whether additional equipment needs to be included. Confirm the order and site arrangements with the responsible parties.
Agree protection and the next stage
The specification and site conditions govern the arrangements after placement. Confirm how the work will be protected, who will communicate readiness for the next operation and what records will be handed over. Do not infer a curing period or loading limit from a general online article. A clear handover keeps the slab stage connected to the rest of the build.
