Use this at the planning stage.

This guide helps you prepare questions and information. Project designs, ground conditions and any required approvals need to be confirmed by the relevant professionals.

Measure more than the gateway

Record the narrowest width and lowest overhead clearance along the whole route. Show corners, slopes, steps, soft ground and surfaces that need protection. Include photographs from both directions; a wide gate does not guarantee enough room to turn or operate.

Separate access from working space

A machine may fit through the entrance yet have insufficient room to work or load material. Show the excavation footprint, stockpile space, retained structures and the route for people. Tell us which spaces must remain available during construction.

Trace every material journey

Concrete, reinforcement, aggregates and removed soil need routes in different directions. Establish where delivery vehicles can stand, how material crosses the site and whether a pump or smaller handling operation may be needed. The chosen method must be assessed for the actual site.

Add the constraints to your enquiry

Send measured photographs and a marked-up site plan alongside the design. Include shared access, working-hour limits and any known vehicle restrictions. A clear route brief lets the contractor explain the logistics allowance instead of assuming standard access.
